The demise of Google Reader

Sunday, March 17, 2013
So you have probably heard the news by now that come July 1st, Google Reader will be no more.
You may have a back up plan in place, or you might be wondering how on earth you are going to keep track of all the blogs you love reading.
I am going to suggest moving to Bloglovin.
I use it, I like it. You can import your Google Reader list into Bloglovin, they have apps for your phone, and you can search through their site and look for other blogs you might enjoy.
There are other ways to manage your RSS feeds, like Feedly too! There's plenty I'm sure I don't even know about.
What are you going to use?

  1. Do you know if the demise of Google Reader will effect reading blogs through your blogger dashboard?
I use that and Bloglovin to follow most of the blogs I read.
I also wonder what this means for Blogger in general?

  2. I'm not sure, but I would think the dashboard and even GFC would be affected somehow. I also wonder what they have planned for blogger!!

  3. I've been trialling Bloglovin' for a few weeks, but someone else suggested Netvibes to me & I actually prefer it. For me, it's more like Google Reader.

  5. Oh good question. eek! I don't have many followers on the reader thingy anyway, so that's lucky I guess. Most of mine are on the email sub list.
