DIY Washi Tape Easter Eggs

I'm pretty excited that this Easter I finally have a child that is old enough to enjoy some good old fashioned Easter Egg decorating with me! Ever since I was little I've been a pretty big fan of Easter crafts, I remember making many Easter baskets throughout my childhood. But, now that I think about it, it was probably just because I was worried that the Easter bunny would forget me if I didn't have a pretty basket! There's no way I wanted to miss out on that chocolate!

So tomorrow I'm going to 'try' to decorate some eggs with my two and a half year old (I think I'm regretting this already).

But, I couldn't wait until tomorrow, so while he was at kindy today, I made my own, and I didn't have to share! They are really easy, and just involved some things that I already had in the house. I know I'm not the first person to make washi tape Easter eggs, they've been around for a long time, but here is my take on them! Maybe they'll give you a little craftspiration to get your Easter Egg decorating happening!

All you need:

Some paint. I used some cheap water colour paint

Washi tape: just a couple of rolls, personally I love the gold and black and whites!

Eggs: of course!

I was a bit lazy and just hard boiled these ones, usually I would put a pin in each end and blow the raw egg out and then use it for making something, that I won't share with others haha.

Paint your eggs, use a egg cup or the washi tape roll to hold the egg upright so you can paint it

Cut the tape and stick how you like!

  3. "Unless it's baby clothes, then will power is useless. " You crack me up!! So funny.

I have been so blessed by all the clothes we have been given. I know it's not essential to have trendy clothes for my kid by any means but that doesn't stop me from often wishing I could buy him something. AHHHH. Secretly looking forward to running out of hand-me-downs. Shhhhh. I love that you dress your kids with style but you are such a savvy shopper. I didn't know I could buy from amazon either. Although I guess I can buy American now that I have an American IP address from unblock-us.
You are so my go to girl! Dang. Loved what your wrote. I know all this stuff I just get exhausted looking. It seems like you really know how to narrow it down! Love that about you.

  5. Love your tips. I do have the discipline to wait but sometimes the 'I must have it now' comes into play.

  6. So cute! I bought like 4 dozen eggs and we did the sharpie and normal dying and then I got a little bored! You've given me a great idea because we usually stuff confetti or glitter in some emptied eggs and I can never seal the tape. WASHIIIIII to the rescue :)
