Even though Willow can't move yet it is just a disaster waiting to happen, it can be so hard though just finding the opportunity to take one by themselves. xYellowDandyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00893802619752774767noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5403884662501199270.post-3353323494326857252013-12-04T12:44:20.831+11:002013-12-04T12:44:20.831+11:00Thank you - I agree that regular pool/beach visits...Thank you - I agree that regular pool/beach visits will also help, and we are hoping to do that over the Xmas break. I generally don't get to the pool with both kids as I can't fully supervise them by myself.
I think I will get a swimfin and give it a shot. If it proves popular/useful with both, I can always get another further down the track.YellowDandyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00893802619752774767noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5403884662501199270.post-5002768325646770532013-12-04T00:48:54.276+11:002013-12-04T00:48:54.276+11:00Not personally knowing your daughter it is hard to...Not personally knowing your daughter it is hard to say exactly, but I would say that the swimfin would help most kids gain confidence, even a 4 and a half year old. Just having the security of knowing something is going to help her might make a difference. Confidence and getting used to the water is one of the most important things I've found, so regular pool or beach visits just for fun will really help too!
The best thing I found was that even though Ezra was scared when I just held onto his hands at first he quickly realised that he could do it, because he had the swimfin he didn't have to struggle to keep his head out of the water and then he started to have fun! I hope that helps xYellowDandyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00893802619752774767noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5403884662501199270.post-42749933406300768132013-12-04T00:42:54.409+11:002013-12-04T00:42:54.409+11:00He is so adorable with the Fin, I just giggle and ...He is so adorable with the Fin, I just giggle and everyone points and makes jokes about there being a shark in the water, he loves the attention! xYellowDandyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00893802619752774767noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5403884662501199270.post-66538564754165738172013-12-02T23:33:49.591+11:002013-12-02T23:33:49.591+11:00They seem great, we are trying to teach Izzy to do...They seem great, we are trying to teach Izzy to do doggy paddle at the moment. Will look into it, we were going to get a boogie board for the beach, but this seems to be a better choice :)YellowDandyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00893802619752774767noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5403884662501199270.post-48172729357214969442013-12-02T13:00:05.208+11:002013-12-02T13:00:05.208+11:00Wow - I have to look into this. She won't get her face wet, and completely freaks out if the instructor lets go when trying to get her to paddle/kick etc. As a result, she is now saying she doesn't want to do swimming anymore as she doesn't want to put her face under water...
Seeming you are a qualified swimming teacher, do you think this fin would help?
I am also hoping to start swimming next year with my 3 yr old, who is also severely lacking confidence and spent our last pool visit with his arms and legs wrapped around me!YellowDandyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00893802619752774767noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5403884662501199270.post-23993288548618704622013-12-02T12:05:07.647+11:002013-12-02T12:05:07.647+11:00I was wanting one of these for Zebs stocking - jus...I was wanting one of these for Zebs stocking - just hadn't got around reordering - woohoo for a discount ;) Zeb is at the stage where he can't/swim on his own, but I think a week at a resort where we are in the pool every day, would do the trick - if I could just arrange that ;)YellowDandyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00893802619752774767noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5403884662501199270.post-87552881170919312682013-12-02T09:02:32.777+11:002013-12-02T09:02:32.777+11:00I definitely think this would be a worthwhile purc...I definitely think this would be a worthwhile purchase for my kiddos.
