A portrait of my children once a week for a year.

It's been a bit quiet around here lately! Mostly because we are so busy trying to do all the finishing things to the house and getting ready to move, plus I feel like I've been sick for like two weeks, and I'm trying desperately to get to bed early. So my blogging time is getting eaten into. Anyway, it's chaos, but we are getting by, only just, I want another holiday!! But once we move into our new house I know it will all be worth it!

But, here are my portraits from this week, it's amazing how messy babies can be, when they suddenly side swipe the spoon as you are getting ready to get it in their mouths, they drop everything on the floor, and they squish everything and smear it all over! I don't mind letting them get a little messy, I mean it's all part of their learning and development about food and eating, all a bit of fun!

Talking about fun! Look at this kid! Just having a blast. Don't you wish you could just let all the responsibility go and have fun like a toddler again, I need to!!

Oh and don't mind my dead wooly bush in the background, I need to work on my green thumb!

I've thrown in a picture of my furry child, just for good measure, he doesn't get much blog space these days"

In the chaos of our lives in the last couple of weeks, I've already fallen behind on my 52 portraits challenge. I had a feeling it might happen when the craziness of moving, building, teething and getting sick all came upon us. But, I'm back, and so here we are!

My sweet girl, she's approaching the eight month mark. She's commando crawling all over the place. I watch her just sitting and playing, focusing in on a toy and really studying it and becoming engrossed in it, she will sit and play sigh it for ages. That is something Ezra never did. As soon as he could move, he never sat still, he never played with toys, he just wanted to go. He was standing and 'cruising' on furniture at her age, it is pretty nice to have a second baby that is a little less gung-ho!

And this one, what a spunk! He is just growing up way to fast. He's out of nappies now, except for sleeping. There is something about that stage that makes him seem so much older.

Sometimes you wish they would just grow up, and then life would be a little easier, and then others I desperately want them to stay my sweet little babies!

{A photo of my children every week for a year.}

Ez loves taking Pup Pup for a 'walk' these days, he also has a little doll in the pram that he is pushing. I actually love it when their play is an imitation our lives, it is just so cute!
And my little chunky monkey is getting so big and eating sooo much! I can't get enough of those toothless grins.

And again, I had to add a cute sibling picture. They were both napping upstairs. I heard Ez come out of his room. By the time I got up there, this is what I found! Its hard to get mad, when they were having so much fun together.

So, I'm sure if you read a few blogs in the Aussie blogosphere (yep, that is a word, I'm sure of it), then you probably have stumbled across the 52 Project started by Jodi at Practicing Simplicity (Previously Che & Fidel). It is something it seems that lots of bloggers are participating in. While I was away, I gave it some thought again, and realised how great it is to look back at the end of a year and see the gradual changes in your children week by week as the year progresses. At this time last year I had NO IDEA what Willow looked like, all we had glimpsed was just a black and white picture of her squirming around, and Ezra looked like such a baby. Today I looked at him and realised just how much of a boy he is now, the baby, as sad as it is, is gone.

So, saying all that, this year, I will be joining in too. But, what I am really excited about is making an album with these portraits of my children from every week, at the end of the year. I have a little obsession right now with getting started on some Project Life Albums. I just don't have the time right now with the pending move! But, I love the idea that I can flick through an album and have a picture of my children every week for an entire year. Even if you don't blog, or don't want to share pictures, it is a great way to have a little keepsake for yourself and your kids!

I'm a couple of weeks late, due to our little holiday, which I will share about more when I get the chance!! But, until then here are my portraits from this week.

 My two tired ones... one fast asleep in Mum and Dad's bed because he was cold in the tent, the other completely zoned out but refusing to sleep in the porta cot.
